Chili guava

Chili Guava Passionfruitlife

“There is not a man or a woman in the entire world who doesn’t enjoy a good beverage.”

I don’t really remember when I had my first mocktail, but it would sure have been in my teens. The OG mocktail is of course lemonade which we all have been brought up on but through the years I have had some fantastic ones along the way. Chili Guava is one such charming cooler that I almost always gravitate towards when I see it on a menu. It is refreshing yet spicy at the same time. And such lip-smacking tantalizing sensation in every sip! So, I had to make this one at home to beat the heat and even keep me a warm company during the winters. Definitely a great pairing with your dinner.

RECIPE
Chills 1 thirsty person

INGREDIENTS

  • 300ml of guava juice (packaged or fresh)
  • 1 teaspoon of tabasco
  • 1 ½ teaspoon of sugar
  • 1 ½ teaspoon of salt
  • ½ teaspoon of chili powder
  • Ice (optional)

METHOD

  1. Mix half teaspoons of salt, sugar and chili powder in a wide bowl or plate.
  2. Wet the rim of your serving glass and dunk it in the salt-sugar-chili mixture. Coat the edge completely.
  3. Add the rest of the ingredients in the glass.
  4. Stir well to combine and enjoy chilled.

ADDITIONAL NOTES

  1. You can replace tabasco with half teaspoon of chili powder.
  2. You can also swap out 150ml of the guava juice with cranberry, peach, or apple juice for added tang.
